Q2 2026 update: LICC closes as our biggest deal, ARCTIC15 Top 100, and 26 active projects

SomebodyMakeIt closed spring 2026 with our largest customer to date (LICC, NOK 1 million), selection for the ARCTIC15 2026 Top 100 Innovations Shaping the Future, and 26 active projects running on the platform. Here is what shipped, what is in motion, and where we are going next.

TL;DR

  • LICC signed as our biggest customer so far. NOK 1 million closed across four coordinated suppliers in 7 working days from first email.
  • SomebodyMakeIt was selected for the ARCTIC15 2026 Top 100 Innovations list.
  • 26 projects are now active on the platform, up from 18 pipeline conversations in March 2026.

LICC: our biggest deal to date

LICC is a Norwegian hardware startup building a mobile ice cream cart with custom freezer modules, IoT sensors, and a companion app. We met founder Christian G. Træland through Innovasjon Norge's EMNY program in May 2026. Christian came to us with the same question we hear from every hardware team building something new: "We can't get suppliers to respond on the hard-to-source items."

In 7 working days from first email, we matched LICC with four coordinated partners (R21 Arkitekter for architecture and operational coordination, Tenc for manufacturing and SomebodyMakeIt sequencing the workflow) and reached a verbal NOK 1 million commitment, which closed in the weeks following. The project is in production and LICC has agreed to a public platform showcase as it ships.

What made this work was the multi-supplier coordination, not a single match. The hard part of novel hardware is not finding one factory. It is sequencing architects, manufacturers, and specialized cooling firms against a deadline without losing momentum to email threads. That coordination problem is the workflow we are building toward by default.

ARCTIC15 2026 Top 100 Innovations

ARCTIC15, the Nordic-Baltic startup conference, selected SomebodyMakeIt for the 2026 Top 100 Innovations Shaping the Future. Tonje will be in Helsinki for the event during the week of June 8.

If you are at ARCTIC15 and want to talk physical product workflows, IP merchandise, or hardware coordination, find us there.

26 active projects on the platform

In March 2026 we had 18 active pipeline conversations and NOK 90K in pilot GMV with zero paid marketing. Today there are 26 active projects on the platform across gaming, entertainment, attractions, and hardware. The mix is shifting: hardware coordination work (LICC pattern) and IP merchandise launches (North The Movie pattern) are now both first-class on the platform.

What's next

We are heading into Q3 with active customer pilots in Norway and Sweden, a growing pipeline across the Nordics, and renewed focus on the in-platform workflow for multi-party projects. The LICC pattern (four partners coordinated by SMI in under a week) is the workflow we are building toward by default. Expect changelog updates as that work ships.

If you are running an IP launch, a hardware project, or a coordinated production run and want to see what the SMI workflow looks like, we would love to hear from you.
